As autumn closes in, the Dingle Chapter of the Irish Whiskey Society are hosting an unique event presented by Chefs Kallam Moriarty and Trevis Gleason for our November tasting. After a candle-lit dinner, we'll move to a cozy room for a pairing of international whiskeys and bespoke chocolates.
We'll begin by tasting a number of single-origin chocolates with an Irish single malt to ease our pallets into the evening. Then, four more whiskeys will be paired with chocolates that Kallam will create to coax subtle (and not so subtle) flavours from both the whiskey and the chocolates.
Call it romantic, call it intriguing, call it whatever you want, but don't wait to sign up for this tasting because we're sure to be calling it "sold-out" very quickly.
There will be a bus provided to take attendees out to the venue leaving John Benny's on Strand Street at 6pm.
Price: €65
Includes 2-course dinner by Éalú at The Stonehouse.
Dinner at 6:30, Tasting at 7:30
President's Fundraiser Tasting 2024
27th November 2024 (Wednesday), Jameson Distillery,
Bow Street, Smithfield, Dublin 7
As President, I have the honour of choosing the final event of the calendar year. My aim is to schedule a memorable whiskey event for members, but in addition I have long wanted to use the opportunity to raise money for charity. I am delighted that in full support of both those goals, Irish Distillers has generously agreed to host the IWS in the Jameson Distillery Bow Street on Wednesday 27th November. Andrew Dickey, the IDL Brand Engagement and Advocacy Team Manager has tirelessly collaborated with multiple departments in Irish Distillers, and developed a fantastic whiskey experience for IWS members. The proceeds from the event and raffle will be donated to the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People on Bow Street, just around the corner from the Jameson Distillery. The raffle tickets will be sold through a separate portal (details to follow). Members from around the country will have the opportunity to attend in person or online as the event will be streamed live to the IWS YouTube Channel and recorded by Gashke Productions. The evening will start at 7pm when members are greeted in the upstairs bar in Bow Street with a Jameson cocktail and some hearty food. At 8pm the tasting will be presented by Eric Ryan and Andrew Dickey.
They will guide us through 6 exquisite whiskeys from the best of Midleton including:
Registration will be €40 each and will open at 7pm sharp on Monday 4th November. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. There will be a choice between attending in person or online. The registration price will be the same for both, as those attending in person will be offered food and those attending remotely will have sample packs posted to them. I am very grateful to Irish Distillers Limited for their generosity and to the staff who have dedicated time and resources to this fund raising event. I am also indebted to the IWS Team who have worked so hard to make this event happen. Sláinte mhaith, Brían Ó Donnchadha Terms & Conditions Event registration to members is on a first-come-first-served basis. Attendance in-person is for the named registered member only. The nominated charity will receive the proceeds of ticket sales and the raffle after all IWS overheads are covered. The final amount of the donation will be communicated to IWS members as soon as possible. A Celtic Calendar of Whiskey: A Dingle Tasting Experience
Wednesday 4th December 2024,
Wynn's Hotel, 35-39 Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1, D01 C9F8
Dear Members,
Join us for what is set to be a fantastic evening as we take a look back at Dingle Distillery's Celtic Wheel of the Year Series.
The Celtic wheel of the Year is a solar calendar that marks the time and the seasons. It is divided into eight periods and Dingle Distillery have launched eight editions to mark these eight periods, plus their latest, final release to mark Wren’s Day.
The final release of the series honours the traditional celebration of lá an Dreolín, also known as Wren's Day, a traditional day of revelry and mischief in Dingle.
So join us on the 4th of December in Wynn's Hotel where Dingle's Brand Ambassador, (Beardy) Dave Cummins, will walk us through the wheel of the year, answer any questions we have and share some insights into what's next for Dingle.
Booking opens on Thursday 14th of November at 7.00 p.m. This will be a popular event, so please set a reminder to book on to secure your space. Join the waiting list to be notified if a spot becomes available. It is necessary to register and complete payment via Stripe (within 15 minutes) to secure your booking.
