Continuing on our very successful and educational Meet the Distiller series this month sees us welcome Alex Chasko from the Teeling Whiskey Company. Alex is no stranger to the Society and we are always guaranteed to have an enjoyable night when Alex is around. This month will see him take us through the process of blending and how he comes up with his distinctive blends. As a basis for this he will take us through the different component parts of the newest Teeling Whiskey Company offering, a Single Malt which is made from malt matured in 5 different casks. We will of course be tasting the malt along with the component parts.
As part of the evening Alex is planning on providing insight into the challenges in getting Dublin’s first distillery in over 125 years up and running, the various skips and jumps that they needed to go through; we suspect his hair may be somewhat grayer than it was before this process started. Alex will share his views on the Irish Whiskey industry as it’s developing and generally life as he knows it.
It will be an evening of Malt, Malt and more Malt.
