We have ANOTHER special tasting to announce this month, which is open to all IWS members (and their friends and partners). Our good friends at the Kilkenny Wine Centre have kindly invited the society to a very special series of tasting events on Friday 14th October and Saturday 15th October.
Tasting bottles in The Wine Centre (7pm, Friday) will include Ballylarkin, Henry Downes No. 9, Writers Tears Cask Strength (if Liam can lay his hands on it on time) and Coleraine blend (we might twist his arm on something else). There will be some rare Irish and Bourbon whiskeys on display and for sale.
Afterwards we will visit the Dylan Whiskey Bar for drinks, finger food and music.
A tour of Smithwicks Brewery has been confirmed for 3.30pm Saturday. The tour will finish with a sampling. You will be able to try the newly launched Smithwicks Pale Ale.
We have accommodation arranged at the lovely Ormonde Hotel in Kilkenny city centre for both nights, at a cost on a B+B basis of €130 per person sharing. Obviously, capacity for this trip is very limited and we need to confirm accommodation numbers shortly, so if you are interested in joining us on this fun visit, please book your place as soon as possible.
