Another year passes for the society and it's time for our annual general meeting. The IWS exists for its members, and we would be delighted to see as many as possible come along to this year's AGM. This is when we establish the committee and begin to formulate our plans for next year, and we would be keen to hear from any member who has ideas for improving the society or who would like to take a more hands-on role by joining the IWS committee.
We have some amendments to the constitution which have been proposed and will be debated at the AGM. Any member in good standing who has an amendment to propose should forward it as soon as possible to the committee.
We'll give an update on the progress of the society to date, we'll have a review of the years events, discuss what went well, what could be improved upon and discuss what the future might hold for the society. We welcome everybody's ideas for growing the society.
We appreciate that meetings can sometimes be boring so, by way of incentive, we couple the AGM with the President's Selection, an extra-special tasting designed by our president, Leo Phelan.
We have a much increased budget for the President's Selection compared to our usual monthly tastings, so you can be assured of sampling some truly amazing whiskeys on the night. This tasting is exclusively for MEMBERS ONLY and seating is limited, so please book as soon as possible.
All members will be admitted to the AGM, but only those who have booked in advance will be able to remain for the President's Tasting.
