Killbegan, I’m beggin! Tullamore, Tell Me More! From the disused stills of B. Daly to the Kilbeggan micro-pots to the brand new beauties at Tullamore’s new distillery, from Friday September 4th to the morning of the 5th we’ll be taking a special tour across the Midland whiskey scene with our native Tullamorian Whiskeyphile Ken Quinn and a helping hand from the good folks at both William Grant and the Kilbeggan Whiskey Company. Events kick off at 10 am on the Friday with a special tour of the new Tullamore Distillery (off limits to general tourism) before heading off to Kilbeggan for lunch and more special treatment (and special tippling) from our good friends at Cooley. The finale hooley will be held that evening in Tullamore, where Ken has generously negotiated discount rates for all IWS members at the Bridge House Hotel (85 euro single room, 65 euro sharing). Regardless of where attendees wish to stay, all accommodation should be sorted out privately in the manner of the Dingle trip. Meal choices and payments over lunch are also at the personal discretion of each attendee. On the day, attendees will meet at 9:30 at the Tullamore D.E.W. visitors centre and the town is easily accessible via bus, train, and motorway. (From Dublin’s Heuston Station, the 7:35 train should get you into town bright and early around 8:30). This looks to be a red letter event on our Calendar and another opportunity for members from our various chapters to mix and mingle in the island’s middle. Due to the nature of the tour, however, spaces are capped at 20, so please book early to avoid disappointment! Ken has put heaps of work into putting together a stellar weekend and, if you have any questions, feel free to reach him at 0877729254

They are holding rooms aside for possible IWS inquiries up to July 30th in light of the usual demand during racing season. After that point, discounts will still apply but the rooms will be opened up to other customers so, again, we advise early booking if possible
