The original distillery, located in the middle of the town stopped producing whiskey in 1954 and this building is now an excellent visitors centre and housed the annual Irish Whiskey Awards in 2016. In September 2014, our society was honoured to be invited to the official opening of this new state of the art distillery which produced 22,392 casks of whiskey in its first year of production.
Tullamore Dew is an Irish whiskey which has survived against many obstacles and is now prospering thanks to new investment by William Grant & Sons.
