Michael Regan is based in the Hudson Bay area of New York and has been a whiskey aficionado for many years. Having introduced many of his friends to his own collection, he discovered that there was a gap in people’s knowledge of which whiskey to drink, and how. Indeed, he desired to learn
more as did they and so with a few of his friends, Mike founded “Mike’s Council of Whiskey Drinkers” in 2016.
Together, they as a group meet in a member’s house or enjoy field trips to local distilleries. With the interest in whiskey growing quickly they have uncovered a great deal of information, both online and in the distilleries they have visited on their trips.
In the Hudson Valley, NY area where they are located there has been a huge resurgence in the distillation of Rye and Corn based whiskeys and bourbons. This has made visiting local distillerys easy and frequent. They have also been able to enjoy tasting small batch whiskeys first and before they
are available throughout the country and overseas.
On March 20th , he will bring 3 whiskeys plus a few surprises to share with us in Dick Macks. Most if not all of the whiskey which Michael will bring with him are only available in distilleries.
Our Dingle chapter will supply 2 bourbons to ascertain what he thinks of our knowledge of bourbon and rye. We have it on good authority that we will get to taste a Dennings Point Distillery 'Beacon Bourbon' and Hillrock Distillery 'Estate Rye Whiskey'
