Dingle: Delving further into the cask finish

Further expanding on Ger Garland's excellent tasting in July which looked at just how wood influences the taste of a whiskey, ex-society president Peter White will take this a stage further with a look at six different cask finishes from Ireland and beyond. 

Members will be guaranteed an opportunity to sample some splendid drams of whiskey which they will definitely not have tasted previously and one which is a superb brand new launch from a distillery at the forefront of the new wave of Irish whiskey making. Another couple of these whiskeys will have spent time in Malbec & Burgundy casks and so may appeal to the wine lovers among our chapter. Indeed, some of these whiskeys are now no longer available.

Unfortunately we have been encountering difficulties on an ongoing basis with regard to numbers for the tastings this year. We are simply unable to plan accurately for a tasting as we do not know just how many will attend an event as people arrive even once a tasting has commenced. This is unfair on the ambassador/presenter who has travelled to Dingle specifically to host the evening. Therefore we have no other option going forward but to cancel a tasting unless we have a minimum of 15 bookings on-line in advance. 

It is imperative that our members book the event online, so that we can plan the tasting to ensure there is enough whiskey for all and that everything is setup on the night! We can then all relax and enjoy some outstanding wee drams. We look forward to seeing you all there.
