For our next tasting we have organised a wonderful selection of whiskies and gins. The whiskies have been finished in a selection of different casks, ex bourbon, oloroso sherry, madeira and Japanese Mizunara casks. You will have an opportunity to assess the different character which each cask gives to the whiskey. The Mizunara cask is very interesting and Glendalough were privileged to acquire some of these rare casks.
Following an in-depth description of how gin is made, we will taste some very interesting and very different gins. Glendalough have their own local professional forager; she has any encyclopaedic knowledge of the Wicklow flora and fauna. Each season she selects the most appropriate botanicals for the gin.
Glendalough will also provide a gift of each participant, “a gift for everyone in the audience”.
