In September, the Dingle chapter of the Irish Whiskey Society will once again welcome you all to the latest incarnation of what have been some of the whiskey tastings of the past couple of years, not just in the town but the entire country! During this year we have been lucky indeed to have had several whiskey ambassadors’ from Ireland’s distillery’s travel to Dingle to present their wares to us and for this years ambassadors whiskey tasting, we hope to expand on that theme. IWS Dingle hope to have up to eight of them in the same room together and just to add a bit of craic and a further twist to the standard tasting format, they will present each other’s whiskeys blind. In other words, they will be presenting not their own brands but those of the other presenters, without knowing just what it is they are presenting.
Previously, this event was held in October but we have brought this year's one forward by one month to try to ensure clement weather for all of those travelling to the town.
We look forward to having them explain to us just what it is that motivates them to do what they do, what their own favourite drams are and just where they see Irish whiskey in ten or even twenty years’ time. As usual, they will be open to questions from our expert audience and there are bound to be a lot of laughs on the evening. There will also be some food provided on the night.
We may also be fortunate enough to witness Crystal Master Craftsman, Sean Daly demonstrate just how he produces those beautiful Dingle Crystal whiskey glasses.
There will be a bus provided and this will pick up attendees at 19.15 hours outside John Benny's pub, Strand St or people can make their own way to the workshop.
