Happy New Year to all!
To kick off 2020, we have a special one off event lined up to get us up to speed. Graham Coull, our new Dingle distiller will be presenting us with a very unique opportunity to taste and vote upon 8 Speyside whiskys for the annual Speyside Whisky Awards which is celebrating it's 21st year.
The judging process takes place in two stages. The first round is a blind nosing and tasting of Speyside's finest malts by selected judges. Following the challenging blind tasting of Speyside’s finest malts, our expert judging panel selected eight finalists for the 2020 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Awards.
Two whiskies from each of the four categories are shortlisted to go forward for the Roving Whisky Awards Judging and Tasting, when visitors and locals can cast their vote during the Festival. The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival Whisky Awards are the only whisky awards where the real experts - whisky consumers - have the final vote and have continued to gain in popularity.
And this is where we come in!
The final say of course, rests with our Festival and International voters who take the opportunity to become involved in the judging process. The judging events will be held at various international locations and we would encourage all Speyside Whisky Enthusiasts to become involved in the judging where possible.
Both the members in Dingle & Dublin are now being given the opportunity to have our say in what could win and we need you guys to show up on the night and to taste & vote.
