Yo Ho Ho and a Barrel of Rum!
Dingle has been a safe (and enjoyable) port of call for as long as sailors have plied the waters of the North Atlantic. Couple a sailor’s love of rum and Ireland’s hand at whiskey, and we should have seen it coming…
Our November tasting will see both rum & whiskey, and one’s influence on the other.
Trevis Gleason will take us through the island rum-influenced expressions from the Sailor’s Home brand launched earlier this year. We’ll taste their three current expressions as well as have the first look at their newest release expected out by year’s end.
These whiskies are finished in rum casks from different islands which have surprisingly different flavours and textures. For fun, we’ll also talk about and sample rum from these island nations to better understand the influence the spirit’s casks had on the whiskey.
We may even have a special guest or two join in for the presentation. So, haul anchor and set a course for Foley’s Bar in Inch and put on your best Jack Sparrow accent. We’re sailing home. Arrrrrrrr!
We would like to extend a very special thanks to John for hosting this event for us at Foleys Bar & Restaurant, Inch.
There will be a bus provided to bring attendees to the event in Inch and back to Dingle town afterwards and this will leave John Bennys pub on Strand Street at 18.45 so that we may have a drink in Foleys prior to the event and show the pub some support.
Masks will be worn on the bus, attendees may also arrange a lift to and from the event for themselves should they choose. As per previous tastings, Covid certs will be checked by us upon arrival.
We are doing this to safeguard everybody's health and would be grateful for your cooperation for this event. Should you desire, you may also bring your own tasting glass to this tasting.

- Requirement for EU Digital COVID Certificate (COVID-19 pass) (vaccine or recovery certificate) for indoor hospitality and events
- Maintain social distancing when appropriate
- Face masks to be worn (can be removed for consumption of food or drinks as appropriate)
- Table service only in hospitality settings
- Collection of contact tracing data
