We are delighted to announce our January Online tasting, which focuses on a Campbeltown area of Scotland. We will have an superb opportunity to try whiskies from Springbank Distillery presented by the Grant MacPherson, Sales Manager at Springbank Distillers and we'll be joined by Michael Foggarty founder of the Society and L. Mulligans Whiskey Shop. The event will take place on Thursday the 28th of January at 7.30pm.

Springbank is a unique distillery based in Campbeltown, which was established in 1828. It is the only distillery in Scotland that carries out 100% of the production process on site, from malting to bottling of their whisky. 

They produce brands such as Hazelburn (non-peated and triple distilled), Springbank (lightly peated barley and two-and-a-half-times distillation process) and Longrow (heavily peated and double distilled). Each of these is unique and has a significantly different style due to the different production processes and peat levels.

The Events lineup:

• Hazelburn 10 YO - Triple distilled, matured in bourbon casks (46% abv.)

• Kilkerran 12 YO - Lightly peated and non-chill filtered, and has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks (70%) and ex-sherry casks (30%) (46% abv.)

• Springbank 12 YO Cask Strength - Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks ( 65%) and ex-sherry casks (35%) (57.1% abc.)

• Springbank 17 YO Madeira - Aged in rum and bourbon casks for 14 years, before spending three years in Madeira casks, a total of 17 years, before being bottled in October 2020 (47.8% abv.)

• Longrow 21 YO - Peated whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks (5%) and ex-sherry casks (95%) (46% abv.)

The event LiveStream will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday 28th of January and is for members only. You will receive a link to the live stream in advance of the tasting.
